Strawberry mark / Haemangioma

Haemangioma (strawberry mark) normally appear at birth or develop during the first days of life. They start with small vessel nodules and grow very rapidly in the first months of life. They can occur on any region of the body. As a rule, most haemangiomas gradually recede within 2-4 years.

If started at an early age however, laser therapy will prevent excessive growth and also leads to the premature stoppage of the growth of the haemangioma. This means that the regression tendency is ‘brought forward’ and also that regression is generally more comprehensive and triggered earlier.
